Annual Fall Migration Festival—look for its return in 2025

PGAS conducts a migration themed birding event at Lake Artemesia in late September. This event features live raptors, children’s crafts and activities, a bird walk, a native plant giveaway, and a Monarch butterfly life cycle display and tag-and-release demonstration.

It’s not just birds that migrate. This is Lisa Garrett, PGAS Board member and naturalist, tagging and releasing a monarch butterfly at our 2022 Migration Festival.

Ms. Paula from Watkins Regional Park Nature Center and her raptors are always a hit at the festival. They are injured birds who could not longer survive in the wild.
