Join Ken Cohen for a family bird walk at Patuxent Research Refuge South Tract. We welcome children 5 and older, but do not card! Parents should bring binoculars, kids should bring a sketch pad and color pencils or the equivalent. We will visit the refuge’s feeders to see common birds and then sketch or draw their features. The object is for every child on the walk to leave with at least one field sketch. Since this program is at Patuxent, advance registration is required. Please call 301-497-5887. Masks are required for attendees in accordance with State and Federal guidelines. Please notify the refuge of any special needs so that you may be accommodated. Join the refuge’s email list by contacting timothy_parker@fws.gov. More information can be found at: www.fws.gov/refuge/patuxent.
This walk will happen rain or shine. If it rains, we will conduct it in the visitor’s center.
